There are a lot of similarities between Andy (Anne Hathaway) and Elle Woods. Both are totally fish out of water when they get to their new settings and both spectacularly adapt. For Andy, it's a new job at Runway magazine as Miranda Priestly's (Meryl Streep) second assistant. Despite knowing nothing about fashion — and acting like she doesn't care — she eventually realizes she's sabotaging herself by not putting any effort into her work. As her tastes change and she becomes a fashion girl through and through, she also starts to flourish at work. So much so, in fact, that she earns herself a new job.
