The leading lady of The Gilded Age, Marian, is played by Jacobson. Marian comes from an old Pennsylvania family and yearns for something more substantial than the societal expectation to marry well, though she's not quite sure what that is. When her father dies, she moves to NYC to live with her estranged aunts, Agnes and Ada.
