The series kicked off with the release of "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" in 2016. The film is set in New York City in 1926 — 65 years before the events of the Harry Potter series. It follows a British wizard and magizoologist named Newt who researches and rescues magical creatures and stores them in his suitcase.
