Babies with a taste for blood unravel a group of mothers in "Cutting Teeth," Chandler Baker's latest mystery. Motherhood has consumed the individual identities of Darby, Mary Beth, and Rhea, mothers of young preschoolers at RiverRock Church. Right as the mothers have hopes of reclaiming their lives outside of their roles as parents, their children pick up a new fascination with blood and biting. As the strange habit turns into a dangerous compulsion, a schoolteacher winds up dead, and one of the children is to blame. Despite their initial dreams of escaping the confines of motherhood, with their children under scrutiny, these mothers will do anything to keep their children safe, even if their child is truly a threat.
