Royal Holloway, University of London, is the impressive exterior location for the university Joe lectures at. It's not actually in central London, though. Sorry to disappoint. The university can actually be found in Egham, Surrey, and is a 40-minute train journey from the capital. Students caught sightings of Bagdley filming in the spring of 2022 and posted sneak peeks on TikTok at the time.
The Founder's Building at the heart of the uni is the exact backdrop in the Netflix show and was opened by Queen Victoria in 1886. It includes two quads, one of which houses a statue of the monarch. While the location is used as the fictional Darcy College in "You," the grounds have been used in other movies and shows like "Downton Abbey," "Avengers: Age of Ultron," and "The Split."
