Martin Scorsese's latest, "Killers of the Flower Moon," is based on the true story of the Osage Reign of Terror, during which at least 24 Osage were killed for their head rights. Scorsese focuses on one woman, Lily Gladstone's Mollie, who marries Ernest (Leonardo DiCaprio), not knowing he and his uncle (Robert De Niro) are the perpetrators of terrible crimes. The movie is propulsive, horrifying, and at times outrageous, but it works because of Gladstone and DiCaprio's performances at its center. As Mollie becomes sick, Ernest gets lost in his own delusions about what he's doing until he can't run from reality anymore. (Be warned, though, some Native audiences find the film triggering and wish it'd been steered an Indigenous director.)
