The ceremony took place at the Palazzo Pisani Moretta, with celebrity guests like Miles Teller, Julia Garner, Cara Delevingne, and Nicolas Hoult present, among others. Taylor-Joy and McRae met at "The Queen's Gambit" premiere in March 2021, and two days after connecting, McRae released a song titled "Really Want to See You Again," which was about the actor. The two have mostly kept their relationship on the DL and have occasionally gushed about each other in various interviews and social media posts. In an April 2022 interview with British Vogue, Taylor-Joy revealed, "We're basically 80 years old and 7 at the same time, and it works really well."
