The Goldfinch Soundtrack Is as Elegant as a Work of Art
The film adaptation of the Pultizer Prize-winning novel The Goldfinch has a soundtrack that's as thoughtful and elegant as the art at the center of the movie. While a lot of movies lean heavily on modern music, The Goldfinch instead incorporates classical music and old standards (plus an unexpected and moving song in Russian) with its original instrumental soundtrack. The movie itself spends a lot of time meditating on art — in fact, its entire visual palette is derived from the real-life painting at the center of the plot — so it seems fitting to have a soundtrack that's influenced by a wide range of music. Ahead, check out all the music selected for the soundtrack, plus tracks from composer Trevor Gureckis's original score.
