While we love the competitive banter John Legend, Kelly Clarkson, Blake Shelton, and Gwen Stefani exchange during episodes of The Voice, we have to admit we enjoy listening to them sing together a whole lot more! Entertainment Weekly released an exclusive video of the quartet — joined by host Carson Daly on the acoustic guitar — coming together for a truly stunning cover of Extreme's 1990 ballad "More Than Words." Though all four coaches have their signature styles of music, their voices harmonize flawlessly to remind us that the musical icons didn't get those coveted red chairs just for their pretty faces.
We've heard covers from The Voice's coaches before, but this intimate, unplugged performance might be one of the best. Hopefully, NBC will give us more of these videos, since Clarkson especially has a knack for singing covers. And while the four have found perfect harmony in their performance, they'll soon be back in those famed chairs and competing against one another when the reality singing competition returns Sept. 23. Watch the video above, and savor the unity before it all goes down in the name of competition!
