Everything We Know So Far About The Christmas Chronicles 2 on Netflix

The full main cast of the original The Christmas Chronicles will be back for the sequel, led by Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn as Santa and Mrs. Claus. Also returning for the sequel are Darby Camp as Kate, Kimberly Williams Paisley as Claire, and Judah Lewis as Teddy.

Along with the original cast members, there will be a few new faces, too. The new additions to the cast of the sequel will include Julian Dennison as Belsnickel and Jahzir Bruno as Jack.

Chris Columbus (yes, Harry Potter director Chris Columbus) produced the first film, and for the sequel, he'll return as producer but will be juggling that with directorial duties as well. Coproducers Mark Radcliffe and Michael Barnathan will also return. The original film's writer, Matt Lieberman, will cowrite the script with Columbus.

Little is known about the plot of the sequel, but according to Netflix's press release, the movie will reunite its characters to face a bigger threat than ever. "Kate Pierce — now a cynical teenager — is unexpectedly reunited with Santa Claus when a mysterious, magical troublemaker named Belsnickel threatens to destroy Christmas forever."

While an exact release date hasn't been announced yet, Netflix has confirmed that The Christmas Chronicles 2 will be part of its "Holiday 2020" programming. In all likelihood, that means we can expect it to arrive in November of next year for maximum holiday viewing possibilities.
