You'll Scratch Your Head Over These 2 Product Recalls

Some product recalls make us stop in our tracks, like the recent one for Kraft Macaroni and Cheese. Others just make us scratch our heads. Two such recalls came across our desk today, in which items were flagged for oddly ironic reasons . . .

Silver Lake Easter Egg Cookies

Silver Lake Easter Egg Cookies

Just in time for the holiday, Silver Lake issued a voluntary recall of its Easter Egg Cookies because they contained eggs. The ingredient wasn’t listed in the nutrition facts section of its label, and although no illnesses had been reported, the company didn’t want anyone with a severe egg allergy to eat them by mistake. Although we know what happens when you assume, we tend to think it’s wise to bank on the fact that anything egg-shaped or with the word "egg" in its name might include (spoiler alert) eggs.

Bernat Tizzy Yarn

A brand of yarn has been recalled because it can unravel. That’s right: it was discovered that 11 colors of Bernat's yarn, in finished knit or crochet items, could unravel or snag, which could then pose an entanglement hazard to young children. On that note, you might want to throw out all those handmade baby blankets because, well, yarn.
