Little Girl's Michelle Obama School Project

This Girl's Michelle Obama Project Was So Epic, Even the Former First Lady Gave It an A+

Audrey Dow's 8-year-old daughter, Alexandra, has always looked up to Michelle Obama. She gets ecstatic every time she sees the former first lady on TV, shyly telling her mom, "She's brown like me!" She even has her sights set on attending Princeton University, where Michelle did her undergraduate studies. So when Alexandra had to do a school project about someone who's made a positive impact on society, picking Michelle as her subject was a no-brainer for the third-grader.

"She chose Michelle Obama because she loves how as first lady, Michelle was encouraging kids to go to college, to eat healthy, and to exercise," Audrey told POPSUGAR. For the assignment, Alexandra decorated a poster board with pictures of and facts about the former FLOTUS throughout various stages of her life. On the day of her school's open house, the young girl even donned a royal blue dress just like Michelle wore in the main photo on her poster. Does it get any cuter than that?!

Audrey snapped a picture of her daughter posing in front of her project and shared it on Twitter with the following caption: "She was inspired by her work to make sure more kids go to college & #ReachHigher. She loves that Mrs Obama is brown & has hair like hers." Soon after, her tweet went totally viral, garnering thousands of "likes" and retweets. Three days later, the unexpected happened: Michelle herself saw the tweet! She shared Audrey's tweet with her own feedback on Alexandra's piece of work.

Needless to say, Audrey and Alexandra were both floored that the former FLOTUS took the time to respond. "She got a little emotional, teary-eyed," Audrey told us in regard to her daughter's reaction. "She said she can't believe the first lady would write to her."

This girl's goin' places, and the rest of the internet seems to agree.
