Moms Farewell Note to Breastfeeding Son
Mom's Farewell to Breastfeeding Son: "I Don't Want You to Feel Rejection From This"
The bond between a mother and child while breastfeeding is inexplicable, it's something only the two of them can understand, and it's a bond that comes with late-night crying, happily fed mornings, and everything in between. For Tabitha Hollins, an author and vlogger, breastfeeding her son was an emotional journey, but now that it's coming to an end, she has gathered her thoughts in a powerful post to her son, and it's something that all breastfeeding moms can appreciate.
"It's time for you and I to let go at this time," she wrote on her Facebook page. "For you and I have shared a bond like no other. We do not know one another any other way, but connected. I'm not sure if you understand that this chapter of you and I is coming to a close, for we will share a new beginning together."
Tabitha reflects on "all of the struggles we have overcome," but now that their time nursing is coming to an end, those long nights are in the past.
"But I will remember the nights of singing to you," she continued. "The days we laughed together. Every time you needed comfort mommy was there. Just know I am still here it's just a new beginning for you and I . . . But for right now mommy wants you to know you are still very much wanted, mommy still loves you. I do not want you to feel any rejection from this. I will still protect you and give every being in me to keep giving to you."
She closes her emotional note with a reminder that this is a new beginning for her relationship with her son, and it will be filled with love.
"But tomorrow I will not remember those hard struggles," she wrote. "But tomorrow I will remember giving you everything I have and our beautiful bond that will never be broken. I love you my son."
