The real Iron Man (aka Robert Downey Jr.) has a new member in his squad — well, at least an honorary one!

Australia got lucky when one little boy fighting cystic fibrosis used his strength and courage to transform into Iron Boy and save Sydney from evil. But once 9-year-old Domenic Pace carried out his mission of rescuing Make-A-Wish's fictional news reporter from villainous henchmen, he received a mind-blowing thank you.

Robert Downey Jr., who played the original Tony Stark, confirmed on Twitter that he sent a very special boy on a top-secret mission. When Domenic succeeded after a day spent fighting in red and gold armor — complete with police helicopter and speedboat transportation — he had another message waiting for him on the Sydney Opera House steps. Downey Jr. had recorded a personal video for the heroic little boy, whose life dream is to be the world's greatest superhero.

"Hey Domenic, it's Tony. I'm a little undercover right now. I've shaved the beard, hat and glasses, because in case you don't know there was a civil war recently," Downey Jr. said. "Listen here, I don't do this very often, I'm making you an honorary member of the Avengers. I hereby dub thee. Because guess what? Iron Man loves you."

Iron Man and Iron Boy will make quite the team!
