For many parents who no longer want to have children, the decision to take fertility into their own hands can be an emotionally taxing one. Hysterectomies are major surgeries, though technological advancements have decreased recovery symptoms and times; vasectomies are much more minor. Nonetheless, these are not decisions people take lightly, but if you're wife and mom Leah Randall of Rochester, Washington, you can at least approach it with a sense of humor.

When she and her husband Willie Randall decided they were done having kids — they have three adorable children — they decided Willie would get a vasectomy. But what happened next was anything but traditional. Leah threw her husband a vasectomy party.

In a now-viral post, good-humored Leah told CafeMom she had the idea to do this from an old newspaper clipping. The first thing she did as self-appointed party planner of this vasectomy party was head to her baker to get something appropriate.

Leah had this cake made.

"I went to a local bakery that does custom cakes and explained exactly what I was looking for," Leah told CafeMom. "Luckily, [the baker] had a great sense of humor and got a kick out of it."

Next she had custom shirts made.

Leah had these shirts specially made on Etsy for her three children to wear on the day of the procedure.

Dad got a shirt, too.

Don't think dad got away without his own custom shirt. His reads, "The swim team may have been cut, but the coach will never retire!" His reaction? Based on the photo it looks like he was in great spirits. "I gave my husband his shirt when we arrived at the appointment in the parking lot!" she told CafeMom. "He got a kick out of it and the staff thought it was hilarious!"

The party didn't officially start until dad got his cake.

"I would do it again in a heartbeat, since it was worth celebrating!" she told CafeMom.

Only time will tell if vasectomy parties become a trend!
