For over 15 years, Ellen DeGeneres has been surprising guests on her show with everything from TVs to tropical vacations, but her latest surprise for one family might be her most wonderful yet. On Ellen's Greatest Night of Giveaways, which premiered on Tuesday, Ellen and special guest Jennifer Aniston delivered incredible news to a family struck by tragedy.
Jeff Kimball lost his wife to sarcoma cancer when his oldest daughter, Elyse, was only 3 years old. Ellen was particularly touched by the Kimballs' story because Jeff's late wife was a huge fan of The Ellen DeGeneres Show and the host's role as Dory in Finding Nemo. "She was going in for a 13-hour surgery," Jeff said. "The last thing I did was blow her a kiss and say, 'Just keep swimming.'" So sweet!
In order to help Jeff and his daughters feel the holiday cheer, Jennifer and Ellen gave the family's entire home a Christmas makeover, complete with a new refrigerator, stacks of gifts, and a sparkling Christmas tree.
"What would your mom say if she knew you guys were here?" Jennifer asked the Kimball family.
"She would be so happy," Jeff said. "Ellen, she was your biggest fan, so she'd be like, 'Move over, because I'm getting closer!'" Check out the video above, shared by USA Today, to see the Kimballs' heartwarming reaction to the festive home makeover.
