Your kid said a bad word or ate a handful of dirt or did something else Jar Jar Binks-ish because all the other kids were doing it. It's the Obi-Wan version of the "If your friends jumped off a bridge, would you do it too?" line that your own parents fed you about peer pressure, and you can use it without feeling like you've turned into them.
