As families all over the US attend BBQs and fireworks shows this holiday weekend, the babies in the NICU at Advocate Children's Hospital in Illinois are celebrating as well, just in a more low-key manner. Nurses helped families in the hospital's NICU to celebrate Independence Day with a "parade of little ones" in which all of the babies were dressed in red, white, and blue to show off their USA pride — and they look so adorable it hurts.

"Nurses and child life specialists helped parents dress up their little ones and decorate their surroundings with American flags and other festive decorations to celebrate their first Independence Day," Sarah Scroggins, social media manager for the hospital, told POPSUGAR. The babies were then photographed to provide their families with happy memories of their first Fourth of July, despite it being spent in the NICU rather than at a family BBQ.

Ahead, see the sweet babies dressed up for America's birthday.
