Joanna Gaines Just Gave Us Her 2018 Paint Trend Predictions — and They're Gorgeous

Joanna Gaines not only transforms homes with paint on her hit HGTV show Fixer Upper, but she also designs her own line of it: Magnolia Home by Joanna Gaines Paint, developed by KILZ. In other words, she's about as expert as you can get when it comes to paint colors! And while Joanna admitted to POPSUGAR that she personally prefers classic palettes rather than trendy colors — her philosophy is that the best paint color is one that reflects the family living in the home — she still has a few predictions as to what colors we'll be seeing a lot of in 2018. Find out the three color palettes that have recently captured Joanna's eye in her own words ahead.

Muted Pastels

Muted Pastels

"Gone are the days of Easter egg pastels! Today's muted pastels, including delicate pinks and blues, are soft tones ideal for an entryway or even a piece of furniture. Some of my favorite colors from my collection with KILZ include Rainy Days and It Is Well (seen here). Both are effortless blues with a touch of gray that evoke a comfortable, calm feeling in any space."

Earth Tones

"Earth tones will also have a moment in 2018. These hues, inspired by nature, feel like home to me and pair well with the modern farmhouse style. Olive Grove (seen here) and Garden Trowel are desirable, earthy neutrals based in green that bring a touch of nature indoors."

Moody Blues

Moody Blues

"Last but certainly not least, I think 2018 will bring an abundance of dark, moody blues. Honestly, blues are timeless and with so many variations available, there is a custom shade perfect to fit every style. Whether you like eye-catching turquoise or deep inky indigos, blues add confidence to a room while evoking a sense of calm. One of my current favorites, Weekend (seen here), is moody yet feels optimistic. I love how bold it is and yet, doesn't feel overwhelming."
