9 Ways to Involve Your Kids in Your Wedding

Congratulations — you're getting married! Your wedding day is one of the biggest days of your life, and if you have children, it will also be one of theirs. Share the joy and have a little fun by getting them involved in some creative ways. They likely won't kick and scream if you ask them to come to the cake tasting or hold your hand as you walk down the aisle, and involving them will help balance the tiring days of planning. Here are nine ways to involve your kids in your wedding.

Missing your something blue for the big day? Having your kiddo wear blue is a cute way to include them and also be sure you complete this wedding custom! A beautiful royal blue dress will stand out in the crowd and a sky blue shirt is sure to melt hearts.

Who better to stand by your side on your wedding day than the person you will always stand up for? And why not have them share their thoughts with a reception speech? It will most definitely move people to laughter — and possibly tears. (You may want to leave the bachelorette party planning to your bestie, however.)

Wear them!

If your little is one not quite ready to walk you down the aisle, but you'd still like them by your side, why not wear them? Wearing your child will also help them feel more comfortable in a crowd. Try a stylish sling, which is a gorgeous way to carry your little one and still show off your beautiful dress.

Wedding planning can include many meetings and many, many decisions. Including your child in the decision-making is a great way to ease the tension and have some added fun! Your child will be delighted to join you in these big decisions, especially if those decisions include cake tasting.

Is your baby making his or her wedding day debut all snuggled in your belly? If so, show off that baby bump. Whether your dress is formfitting or flowy, you're sure to glow from not only the happiness of your wedding day, but from the wonder of your growing baby.

A father-daughter dance doesn't have to be just for the bride and her father. Why not make a dance for the children involved? Whether you choose a mother and son dance, a father and daughter dance, or a dance for the entire family, it will surely be a keepsake moment.

Let them design your save the date.

We've all seen some gorgeous engagement photos used for save the dates, but try thinking a bit out of the box. A creative way to let your child get involved and show off their talents is to have them draw your save the date. A bit of guidance will serve you well with this one, but it will get guests talking and complimenting your kid on the big day.

Is your child a talented musician or do they sing like an angel? Even if neither of these things ring true, they may still have some time to practice their new skills before the big day. You'll be smiling ear to ear as they sing you down the aisle or strum their guitar to your favorite tune.

One of the biggest decisions of the big day is who is going to give you away. While your child may not technically be giving you away, since they are going to be joining this great new adventure, it's still a sweet way to let them guide you as you enter into your new marriage.
