I love to cook, so naturally, I have quite the collection of spiffy little kitchen gadgets. The immersion blender was my favorite for a long time. Then, three years ago, my husband surprised me with a KitchenAid mixer for Christmas, and now I have no idea how I ever survived without it. It does everything. Even without the extra (and sometimes pricey) attachments, it mixes, blends, stirs, and — wait for it — shreds.

I know what you might be thinking: it shreds?! And I'm here to happily tell you that, yes, it does. As in, it will give you the most perfectly shredded chicken. And if chicken isn't your thing, then it will also make pulled pork a breeze. This simple hack makes dinnertime so much easier, and it allows you to ditch the fork and annoying task of pulling apart the chicken yourself. So, if you don't have a KitchenAid, I highly recommend getting one ASAP. Keep reading to see more of this hack that will blow your mind.

When the chicken is done, vent before opening the lid. Your chicken should look something like this.

Put the whole chicken breasts into the bowl of your KitchenAid, and be sure to attach the paddle. The paddle is one of the standard attachments that comes with the mixers. Once the paddle and bowl are secure, turn the KitchenAid on to the lowest setting (I actually turn it up a notch because patience isn't my strong suit). Keep the KitchenAid on until all of the chicken is shredded.

You'll end up with a big bowl of perfectly shredded chicken that you can eat however you'd like. This hack also works like a charm on pulled pork or brisket. Just make sure you remove any and all bones before putting it in the mixer.
