Pack Your Sneakers! RunDisney Has 4 Magical Races For Kids of All Ages

RunDisney race weekends are filled with magical miles, lots of yummy food for postrace celebrating, and amazing costume creations — doesn't that sound perfect for kids, too? Even though mom and dad are the only ones allowed to run the half- or full marathons at Disney World, your children can participate in other RunDisney events created just for them.

The really good news? Most of the kids' races don't require an adult to actually run with the kids (but that's an option if you want to run as a family). Kids also get their own special medal, and there's even fun merchandise dedicated to the races so they'll have plenty of goodies to commemorate their big day. Whether you have a little princess or a young padawan, there's a RunDisney race for kids of every age. So grab your kid's running shoes, and head to Walt Disney World for these RunDisney races.

RunDisney 5K

All RunDisney events have a 5K option. These 3.1-mile races are untimed and filled with families running together in costumes — there are so many opportunities to see characters on the course, so children will love it. From races themed from Star Wars to Moana, your little ones will enjoy getting dressed up like their favorite Disney character and being able to walk through the Disney theme parks before they open for the day.

As part of the kids races at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, RunDisney also hosts a 100- and 200-meter dash. Kids from 1 to 4 years old are invited to participate in the 100-meter dash, and kids from 5 to 8 years old can run in the 200-meter dash. Parents are also allowed to participate, but it's not a requirement, meaning your kid can have fun running around with other kids, and you can be at the finish line cheering them on!
