Elmo, Big Bird, and Rosita Spoke About Back-to-School in Sesame Street and CNN's Town Hall

The folks over at CNN once again partnered up with Sesame Street for an informational town hall geared toward little kids. This time, the hour-long special, titled The ABCs of Back to School, A CNN/Sesame Street Town Hall for Families, focused on topics like "staying healthy in classrooms to making the most of remote learning," according to a tweet from Sesame Street.

To give families the tools they need to feel safe, the special featured CNN chief medical correspondent, Dr. Sanjay Gupta. Additionally, news anchor Erica Hill moderated the Q&A-style program, which includes various muppets — like Elmo, who's attending preschool, Big Bird, who's engaging in hybrid learning, and Rosita, who's fully remote — as well as a few children, in the show's traditional style. They were also joined by more of your kiddos' favorite characters, like Abby Cadabby and Super Grover.

This back-to-school special isn't the first program CNN and Sesame Street have teamed up on. The first special centered on the coronavirus and aired in April, a mere few weeks after the pandemic began. Then in June, the organizations hosted an hour-long town hall about racism.
