This Bride Took Inspiration From Solange, But Made Her Caped Wedding Dress All Her Own

Bria Shelton and Eric Brown wanted to plan a wedding that would reflect their youthful and free-spirited relationship. While searching for inspiration, the 24-year-old bride remembered the stylish nuptials between Solange Knowles and Alan Ferguson in 2014. In particular, she set her sights on re-creating the couple's rule-breaking, all-white dress code.

In an interview with Yahoo Style, Bria explained, "I came to realize that a traditional wedding was not our taste as a couple." On why she picked Solange as her bridal inspiration, she said, "Her style is so unique. And my gosh, when I saw her wedding, I felt that was the right theme for us." The day of, Bria and Eric even posed for cinematic wedding pictures reminiscent of Solange and Alan's highly publicized ones.

Though Solange sported two stunning looks on her wedding day, Bria modeled her dress after the singer's Humberto Leon for Kenzo dress in particular. The bride accessorized her crisp cape dress with a trendy pearl choker and pearl earrings. Later in the evening, Bria swapped her cape for a cool denim jacket as she performed a song dedicated to her husband. The back of her jacket read "Mrs. Brown."
