The CFDA Awards Red Carpet Was a Monday Night Fashion Surprise
"Jennifer Lopez uses clothes as a way to express confidence and power. Both designers and fans look forward to her fashion statements," CFDA Chairwoman Diane von Furstenberg said of J Lo, who was honored with the Fashion Icon title at this year's CFDA Awards in her custom Ralph Lauren look. Jennifer's impressively bold signature style obviously set a standard for the rest of the looks that strolled down the carpet at the Brooklyn Museum.
Led by the likes of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen (being recognized for their accessories) and Virgil Abloh (who arrived with Gigi Hadid on his arm), the fashion crowd gathered to celebrate talent across the board. Of course, we're here to let you know who arrived with whom, and we're providing a solid look at the outfit details.
If you recall, this event has seen J Lo in a sheer, bedazzled slip dress in 1998, Rihanna in see-through Adam Selman in 2014, and Gigi in a rainbow Versace catsuit just last year. So we weren't surprised when Bella Hadid showed up in sequins and feathers and Ashley Graham channeled Alfred Hitchcock's glamorous films in Christian Siriano. Scroll to check out every arrival before you read up on the winners.
