The piece, meant to represent New Zealand's national symbol, was gifted to Queen Elizabeth II on a tour of the country in 1953, and she kindly loaned it to Kate for the occasion.

Like good students of fashion, we needed a side angle to fully zoom in on the shoes Kate picked. She walked the tarmac in tasteful black pumps with a small hidden platform.
