Hollywood's Biggest Stars Flew to Japan For Louis Vuitton's 2018 Cruise Show
The settings for Louis Vuitton's cruise shows are just as important as the clothes on the runway. Nicolas Ghesquière previously hosted in places like Palm Springs and Rio. For his 2018 cruise presentation, the designer chose the Miho Museum near Kyoto, Japan. On May 14, guests were whisked away into the mountains and into gorgeous woodland scenery. The museum's architecture played a strong role in Ghesquière's resort theme, with the invites replicating a bridge's structure.
"We've always made architecture a very integral part of our story," said Michael Burke, chairman and chief executive officer of Louis Vuitton. "Japan is a destination that everybody thinks they know, but they all know Tokyo."
Stars like Sophie Turner and Michelle Williams turned up for the special event and were treated to a collection of clothes that were imbued with Japanese references and Ghesquière's sophisticated creations. From the dresses to leather outerwear and boots, this 2018 resort collection deserves all the applause. Read on to see snaps from the show.
