"Is it casual and sexy, like something I'd wear on date night, or is it fancy enough for a walk down the aisle?" I asked myself, as soon as I laid eyes on Shoshanna Shapiro's pretty lace engagement dress in the second-to-last episode of Girls. A quick search landed me upon the product page — I could buy this Alexis Miller three-quarter sleeve midi for a cool $583 and wear it, well, everywhere.
The thing about Shoshanna's dress is that it looked just as good styled with an updo in her apartment as it would have at a bridal shower or a rehearsal dinner in a five-star restaurant. It's a touch flirty thanks to the sheer lace overlay, but it's modest too, with a high neck and doily-like trim. Shosh appeared perfectly put together on her special day, even if she did just meet the guy she's suddenly planning on marrying.
And hey, as awkward as that sounds, clearly this dress made her look totally comfortable in quite the uncomfortable situation (in addition, her ex-best friends Hannah and Jessa showed up to her party uninvited). So yeah, I'll take that dress for the Summer, Shosh, and I'll wear it whenever I can. Scroll to do the same, or pick up a similar number to get you by.
