Dressing up for an event is easy, but dressing for the everyday? Now that's an entirely different challenge. It's one thing to coordinate an outfit for a formal occasion — weddings, work parties, even date nights at fancier restaurants often have an attached dress code that provides some sort of direction on what to wear.
But what about those exceptionally casual occasions that don't necessarily warrant a polished "going out" look, but still require more than your basic pajamas — like days spent lounging around the house, bopping around town for a few errands, or even just walking to get a coffee?
Even the most seasoned stylists struggle to curate the perfect everyday wardrobe. Luckily for us, Anthropologie — ever the haven for versatile fashion — just debuted a new line that's designed to take the guesswork out of dressing for the day-to-day, with pieces that are comfortable (and stylish) enough to be worn for all sorts of casual activities — anti-occasionwear, if you will.
The Daily Practice collection is a capsule of styles that are made to do it all. Crafted from the brand's softest fabrics, this line features a wide array of pieces — from stretchy jumpsuits and parachute pants to breathable maxi dresses and cropped sweatshirts. The collection is an achievement in versatility, with ensembles that you can comfortably wear from a morning yoga class to a long afternoon lunch and beyond.
To get a full understanding of the line's offerings, we tasked three PS editors with testing several items from the collection in their own daily wardrobe. Keep reading for our review of Anthropologie's Daily Practice collection — and see whether the line lived up to the hype.
Daily Practice by Anthropologie Full Speed Halter Mini Dress
Daily Practice by Anthropologie Full Speed Halter Mini Dress ($60, originally $88)
"I love the idea of throwing on a comfortable athletic dress when I'm running errands because it makes me look a touch more polished than leggings and a tank top. The Daily Practice by Anthropologie Full Speed Halter Mini Dress gets the job done and can even be spruced up with a pair of strappy block-heel sandals for brunch or a casual dinner when I do want to nix the sneakers.
While this piece comes in both navy and red, I really love the color pop — given the fact that there's an exposed back and striped contrast trim, which gives the design instant allure — this shade is for those who like to stand out. Of course, the most crucial element of Anthropologie's Daily Practice collection is comfortability, and I can attest that this cotton blend feels super-soft against my skin. What's more, just like many of Anthro's designs, it comes in standard or petite lengths, which is a huge bonus since I'm 5'1"!" — Sarah Wasilak, associate content director, Commerce

Daily Practice by Anthropologie Messa Jumpsuit
Daily Practice by Anthropologie Messa Jumpsuit ($118)
"The moment I tried on this jumpsuit, I knew I wouldn't be able to take it off until I had to wash it. It's a versatile piece that's durable and comfortable enough for a range of activities, whether it's long walks, hiking, running errands, or just handing out with friends. The tank portion is made with a soft ribbed fabric that's flexible and breathable without being see-through.
The back of the tank has a trendy cut out design so you can wear a stylish lacy bra or bralette, or a sports bra for a fun accent. The pants are a durable nylon material that's lightweight and baggy, so I don't feel stuffy while wearing it. I love wearing this when I'm feeling a bit more sporty chic, in fact I've worn it to a baseball game and it's even my go to travel outfit. Plus, it has plenty of deep pockets so I can carry everything that I need without needing a separate bag, although, a belt bag does pair well with it." — Anvita Reddy, assistant editor, Commerce

Daily Practice by Anthropologie Lime Out Midi Dress
Daily Practice by Anthropologie Lime Out Midi Dress ($98)
"With its soft fabric and flowy design, this dress is such a comfortable option for lounging or a casual moment. The two side slits and lightweight fabric adds breathability for those hot summer days. I'd most likely wear this on the beach as a cover up, running errands, casually hanging out with my friends, or on days when I'm unwinding in my apartment. I love that I can feel comfortable while looking put together, which can be a battle during the hotter months. I got a size small in this and it's slightly too big and long, so I would have probably gone for an XS Petite for a more accurate fit." — Anvita Reddy, assistant editor, Commerce

Daily Practice by Anthropologie Mock-Neck Ruched Midi Dress ($98)
"Over the years, I've made a concentrated effort to condense my closet and be a more thoughtful shopper — less mindless spending on trendy pieces, more investing in versatile clothes that can grow with me (and my evolving taste). When I first learned about Anthropologie's new Daily Practice collection, I was instantly intrigued — and taken aback by this Mock-Neck Ruched Midi Dress. Despite its elevated design, the dress is made of a cotton and polyester blend that feels more like a pullover sweater as opposed to a slinky evening dress.
It's breathable, supremely comfortable, and undeniably flattering. Within the span of a month, it's become my go-to work-from-home outfit — I like that I can easily lounge around it in, while also looking pulled together and polished for meetings or conference calls when they pop up. I've also worn in to the airport, on longer flights, and to grab food with friends at more casual restaurants. I'd argue that it's the most versatile style in my closet right now, and it's so dependable, I even ordered it in the dark green colorway, too." — Kyley Warren, assistant editor, Commerce
