"Kiernan has ordered a few pieces from my site in the past," Allison said. "She posted a pair of the Tony Soprano print sweatpants back in January, which were a big hit. She later reached out about making a custom sweatsuit, so I sent along the Tony mermaid shirt ($28) with that as well. It was so cool to see her wearing it, and she's super nice!"

"The mermaid idea came out of the blue," Allison told POPSUGAR. "I had made a large-scale painting of Biggie Smalls as a mermaid in one of my art classes and I really liked how it came out, so I made a 2Pac mermaid as well and decided to print the designs on a run of T-shirts and phone cases. Luckily, they were a hit! After that, I just kept making more and more celebrity mermaids — I am now up to 75 different ones. I am always taking requests as well, but the Biggie one has remained the most popular over the years."

"I have had a few celebrities sport my goods — Tana Mongeau, Noah Cyrus, Jen Selter, and SNL's Heidi Gardner have worn some of my all-over print pieces," Allison said. "I also make prints of the mermaid illustrations as well, which I was able to give to Alec Baldwin, Wayne Newton, and WWE's Mick Foley and Ric Flair. It's always fun to see people's reactions when they see themselves merm-ified! One of the coolest and most random celebrity mermaid encounters was Tim Burton. I was seated next to him at a Wayne Newton concert in Las Vegas and had brought a Wayne Newton mermaid drawing with me on a whim. Tim said he liked it and signed it, which was unreal."
