The New Downton Abbey Trailer Will Gear You Up For 1 Last Season of Regal Fashion
As any fan of Downton Abbey knows, each episode presents equal opportunity to marvel over elegant costumes and escape into Crawley family drama. After all, it's often the fashion choices the characters make that stir the pot, enraging the Dowager Countess of Grantham or delaying dinner for an elaborate change into eveningwear.
But what really sticks out to us about the TV show, which takes place in Yorkshire in the early 1900s and is about to premiere its final season, is how each member of the family manages to develop a signature style, especially at a time of progress. Throughout the series, Lady Mary, Lady Edith, and Lady Rose have experimented with shorter hemlines, broken strict fashion rules, and slipped off their white gloves.
Now that the trailer has debuted for Downton's sixth season, we're planning for some seriously good style moments by immersing ourselves in regal snapshots of the Crawley family. Since Tom's hopping over the pond to America, we're anticipating some major costume updates and maybe, just maybe, a gorgeous wedding gown in Lady Mary's future. Get a sneak peek here!

Season Four
For an evening soiree, the men complement their sleek suits with white bow ties, and Lady Mary piles on the jewels. She always contrasts the details of her gown with an embellished headpiece and a long, eye-catching necklace. Now that the Crawleys are heading into the roaring '20s, Mary often knots her pearls.

Season Three
Martha Levinson's visits to Yorkshire from the states make for some of the most hilarious episodes. It's clear from her fashion choices — just look at that furry coat and lavish hat! — that Cora's mother is ahead of the times. Each time she visits, she can't help but mock Violet's resistance to change.

Season Two
This was perhaps one of our favorite Lady Mary outfits of all time. From the intricate embellishments on her satin gown to her dainty ruffled cap sleeves, her dress alone was enough to make her stand out. But of course, Mary won the evening with all the right accoutrements: elbow-length gloves, a drop necklace, and delicate earrings. Source: PBS

Season One
Lady Mary's top hat, complete with netting, is everything. From the very first season, Mary's fashion choices made it clear that she's a force to be reckoned with. She can pull off the most daring looks with ease, and when it comes to riding a horse, Mary's practically one of the guys . . . in a very spiffy riding suit.
