Maisie Williams's Towering Heels Buckle All the Way Up to Her Knees
Maisie Williams sure knows how to pick statement-making footwear. The "Game of Thrones" star wore a pair of edgy buckle-up pumps to Dior's fall 2023 presentation during Paris Fashion Week on Feb. 28. These weren't just any ol' heels, though — the gladiator-style shoes came with seven thin buckled straps that wrapped around all the way up to her knees and funky spool heels that curved inward toward the sole. A tiny metallic Dior logo adorned each near the rounded-cutout-toe area. The pumps are very "Arya Stark, but make it high fashion."
Williams paired her head-turning heels with several other Dior pieces, including a black strapless corset minidress featuring a bubble hem and a buckle tape belt at the waist. While arriving to and departing from the runway show, she layered on an oversize fleece vest with zippered arm openings to cozy up in the chilly Parisian weather. She kept her accessories low-key, finishing the look with small gold hoop earrings, red lipstick, floating eyeliner, and a finger-wave hairstyle.
The actor is a known fan of Dior, attending the fashion house's haute couture show in January and its Paris Fashion Week spring presentation in 2020, where she wore matching outfits with then-boyfriend Reuben Selby. Williams is also set to portray Catherine Dior, sister of Christian Dior, in Apple TV+'s upcoming drama drama series "The New Look." (Talk about serendipitous casting.)
Williams was in stylish company at Dior's latest runway show, where stars galore gathered in the brand's designs. Gal Gadot wore a sheer lace top and skirt, Bella Ramsey layered a patterned jumpsuit over a button-down shirt, and Charlize Theron chose a white fringe dress. British singer Celeste showed up in the same buckle-up heels as Williams, pairing hers with a fuzzy jacket, a long skirt, and fishnet tights. Other attendees included Thuso Mbedu, Antonia Gentry, Jisoo, Alexandra Daddario, Elsa Hosk, and Gugu Mbatha-Raw.
