It Seems Jason Wu's Inviting Us All to Celebrate Elegance With Fall '17

We suspect a master class in elegance with sex appeal is one Jason Wu could give in his sleep. The designer, who's never had a shortage of high-profile customers, including Michelle Obama, has spent 10 years at his namesake label making clothes women want to wear. Fall 2017 — and the designer's 10th anniversary collection — was a clear testament to that talent.

His expertise in evening wear was on full display, dresses meant to disarm in the subtlest ways — a sliver of skin, a slash, and a sultry drape — any of which would be right at home on A-listers and fans, like Wu's friend, Diane Kruger. Meanwhile, day wear was finished in peppier prints to offset the navy, camel, and gray, everything in easy, wearable balance. Likewise, silhouettes were a mix of ladylike dresses and smart suiting, giving us more of what we love: more options. Suffice it to say, Wu's latest collection is one that plays to his strengths, of which there are — and have always been — many.
