Vogue's Reigning Queen Is Honored by the Actual Freaking Queen of England

During an investiture ceremony at Buckingham Palace on May 5, Anna Wintour received an esteemed honor from Queen Elizabeth II. The Vogue editor in chief was made a Dame Commander for her renowned work in fashion and journalism.

At the ceremony, Anna wore a pink Chanel coat, nude pumps, and her trademark oversize sunglasses — although she removed those once inside. Her daughter, Bee Shaffer, was also in attendance. Following the ceremony, Bee proudly shared a sweet picture of her mom and captioned it, "Dame AW."

In a hilarious turn of events, it seems like the queen was so distracted by the London-born editor's posh belted coat that "she couldn't find where to put the brooch," Anna told the BBC.

Just last month, fellow fashion force Victoria Beckham was also bestowed with a similar honor when she was made an OBE (Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) for her work in fashion design.

Look ahead for touching pictures from the very elegant ceremony.
