The Exact Cost of Kate Middleton's Wardrobe May Shock You

We're used to seeing Kate in a multicolored maelstrom of designer coats for assorted church services and charity engagements, but how much do they actually cost? Kate will occasionally still bring out a relatively inexpensive High Street favorite from Hobbs or L.K.Bennett, but for the most part these days the duchess opts for designer. The bottle green coat she wore for St. Patrick's Day and her arrival to Paris in 2017 cost $2,774.

When it came to her sister's big day, Kate opted for a new dress which complemented the bridesmaid's sashes. The Alexander McQueen dusky pink silk creation cost £2,000, while the matching Jane Taylor cocktail hat was $1,387.

The red McQueen maxi dress for an evening reception in Berlin cost $2,877.

For Royal Ascot Kate chose McQueen again – the ivory lace dress cost $3,259.

Kate opted for a $3,744 Dolce & Gabbana coat for Remembrance Day 2017.

The second ice-blue, crystallized Jenny Packham evening gown that Kate wore in 2017 cost $4,853.

Despite the increasing amounts of finery in Kate's closet, the High Street Duchess is still (just about) visible, and she has also worn a handful of lower price point items in the past year. The cheapest was the $35 Jigsaw faux fur wrap that she chose for the queen's annual festive lunch. Kate has had the piece for many years, and also brought it out for the same event in 2016.

It may not have been as affordable as some of her clothing choices, but Kate's $415 Hobbs two-piece was a snip compared to other far more expensive skirt suits that the duchess has worn.

Kate's favorite earring designer is Kiki McDonough, and the duchess wears her creations for big events such as her children's christenings and black tie galas, as well as her every day charity engagements. In 2017 Kate wore her $4,713 blue topaz earrings in Luxembourg and Germany.
