Anna Wintour's Met Gala Looks Can Be Described in 3 Words: Chic, Classic, and Chanel

Everyone who's anyone knows this to be true: Anna Wintour is the Met Gala — everyone else is simply attending it. The 69-year-old fashionista may be better known as the longtime editor in chief of Vogue, but she is also the face of the most exclusive and extravagant fashion event of the year, which she became cochair of in 1999. The theme may change every year, but when it comes to her own look, Wintour sticks to the adage of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it," as you can always depend on her to hit the red carpet in simple, subdued Chanel couture (and with her trademark bob, of course). Check out the gallery for all of the Met Gala VIP's looks over the past 16 years.
