You'll Have to Squint to See Billy Porter's Met Gala Outfit, Because It's Like Looking at the Sun

Of all of the A-list celebs who walked the red carpet at this year's Met Gala, it came as no surprise that Billy Porter โ€” the man who arrived at this year's Oscars in a custom Christian Siriano tuxedo gown โ€” went for something seriously dramatic. (After all, he is a Tony Award winner for his role as a drag queen in the musical Kinky Boots, is a frequent guest judge on RuPaul's Drag Race, and is now on the drag-queen-centered show Pose.) He made a huge impact upon his entrance on a luxurious velvet chaise ร  la Cleopatra, carried by six (yes, six) beautiful shirtless men in gold pants.

His entrance was definitely one to remember, but his entire outfit was not to be upstaged. According to Vogue, his ensemble, dubbed the "Sun God" outfit, was custom-made by New York City-based designer duo The Blonds. The full-coverage catsuit was completely bejeweled from head to toe, included sprawling 10-foot gold wings and a 24-karat gold headpiece. His accessories included custom shoes by Giuseppe Zanotti and jewelry outfitted by Andreoli and Oscar Heyman.

The glam didn't stop at his body: he had his makeup done by none other than the "Mother," Pat McGrath, complete with metallic lip liner strategically placed at the center of his lips and gemstones outlining his gold eye shadow.
