If Rihanna's Plaid Jumpsuit in Summer Is Wrong, Too Bad, Because I'm Into It

Rihanna arrived for her appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers in a hunter green Dior jumpsuit splashed in plaid. While that's usually a print we associate with Winter, let me remind you that it's June. The Fall 2019 design came right off the French fashion house's recent runway where checks were everywhere, in shades of black and red, too. But just like wearing white any time of the year is acceptable, your taste in patterns should be season-less as well, and instead just based on your mood.

Plus, Rihanna dressed up the design appropriately, opting for patent-leather sandals, a croc-effect Azzedine Alaïa bag, and plenty of chunky David Webb jewelry (PS: those chain-link chokers are back, and Emily Ratajkowski and Kim Kardashian seem to agree). Also, she styled the piece without a shirt underneath, whereas the runway model toughened up the look with a crisp button-down, thick belt, and Mary-Janes. I know florals for Spring is hardly groundbreaking, but Rih just proved that tartan in the Summer can be. Thanks to her badass outfit, I'm shopping for jumpsuits just like Rihanna's. Sure, I'll wear it in the Fall, but you bet your booty I'll start wearing it now, too.
