Back to Basics: The Only Pieces I Want to Wear Right Now

Over the past few weeks I've tried to stay busy and productive. I've filled free time with small projects like organizing my closet, reading new books, and even baking! I've noticed that the things that bring me the most joy are quite simple, and the way I dress is no exception.

I've come to appreciate the necessity for great basics that focus on fit, style, and wearability over trend. I'm wearing a fraction of my wardrobe right now, rotating a select few sweatshirts, oversize button-downs, easy straight-leg denim, cardigans, ribbed tanks, and white T-shirts. Editing down your wardrobe is actually very freeing because you feel confident in the pieces you own and love. This month has been a lesson in conscious consumption. I want fewer pieces and better quality, and I'm quickly realizing that basics are anything but boring.

Socks + Sweatshirts

Socks and sweatshirts on repeat.

Soft Button Down Shirts

Soft button-downs and high-waisted denim are the perfect combo.

Oversize White Shirt

An oversize white button-down is easy with trousers or denim.

Billowy Dress

There are so many beautiful sleep-inspired dresses right now. I love that you can wear these indoors and later in the summer.

Cropped Top + High-Waisted Trouser

These pieces are all so simple, but the look together is very stylish.

Muscle Tee

Muscle tees are a slight update on a basic white tee that adds a lot of style.

Neutral Blazer

A neutral blazer works over everything from denim to sweats.

Neutral Sets

Neutrals look fresh season after season.
