There's an obvious effort to give the classic '90s vibes of the Baby-Sitters Club books a 2020 upgrade throughout the show, but the most obvious instance comes in the form of Claudia's Clueless-esque yellow plaid pantsuit.
Despite Alicia Silverstone being a part of the cast, Cynthia assured me the styling was accidental . . . until it wasn't. "We put it all together and we're standing there," she remembered. "I'm taking my pictures, we're doing our thing, we whisk through this fitting. Then, we're looking at the photos later before I put any of them up for process, and my assistant says to me, 'Hm, nice Clueless nod.' I was like, 'Oh, my God, we did that.'"
Whether it was intentional or a funny coincidence, Cynthia decided to run with this styling choice. She made sure Claudia wore the suit in a school scene, you know, for Cher's sake, but didn't tell Momona or Alicia. "We just put it out there just to sort of let it drop and see, just to see," Cynthia said.
