The 2020 MTV VMAs, hosted by Keke Palmer, is shaping up to be quite an impressive show filled with performances and acceptance speeches — though the show isn't actually live. There was a very specific plan set in place to make the evening's event appear to be so seamless, and part of that included the red carpet. A heck of a lot of planning went into the outfits, too, with celebs showing up in everything from little Mugler minidresses to extraordinary, avant-garde Area looks. (Lady Gaga's outfit didn't quite beat out her famous meat dress for attention, but it was capped off with her signature sky-high, towering platform shoes.)
