"The process is tough, as removing the sole is different from shoe to shoe. I use a number of different tools to dismantle significant parts [of the shoe] such as, the tongue, brand tags, etc. The design process varies, and I don't tend to plan beforehand. I like to trial and error by pinning pieces directly onto my mannequin. This enables me to test out different techniques and placements before I sew together.
