Curious About Those Chunky Sneakers You've Seen All Over Instagram? Well, I Tried Them

I'd like to consider myself something of a shoe shopping expert, so I was surprised when I started to see a running shoe on Instagram that I didn't immediately recognize. They are chunky and looked super supportive, plus they come in seriously cool colorways. After a little investigating, I discovered that they were the Outdoor Voices x Hoka Clifton Sneaker ($140), and I knew I had to try them.

For a little bit of background, I practically live in running shoes. I work out almost every day, and I try to walk as much as I can, so sneakers are the workhorses of my shoe wardrobe. I don't discriminate when it comes to my workouts; I love indoor cycling, boot camp, and Pilates all equally. That being said, my running shoes need to be supportive. I've gotten shin splints in the past, and I'm not about to mess around with that again. So these Hoka shoes were very intriguing to me, because they look like they're seriously cushioned.

Well, forget cushioned. These shoes are like walking on a cloud. They are the springiest shoes I've ever tried, hands down. If you're doing a workout like dance cardio or boxing that calls for a serious amount of pep in your step, these are the shoes for you. Additionally, they're just so much fun to wear during the day, because they make your feet feel amazing. If that wasn't enough, they come in the colorways you're actually excited about, so basically, these are the shoes you'll never want to take off.
