McDonald's is taking customers on a tour around the world — but you won't have to endure a plane ride to participate. The fast food giant is bringing four popular international menu items to the US, one of which is the chain's Stroopwafel McFlurry, formerly only sold in the Netherlands.
The special McFlurry flavor was inspired by the stroopwafel, a popular Dutch dessert made with two thin baked waffles with a layer of caramel sandwiched in between. McDonald's take on the treat features vanilla soft serve mixed with a caramel swirl and chopped-up Stroopwafel pieces.
This is just one of four items being added to McDonald's Worldwide Favorites menu, which will be available at participating restaurants in the states starting on June 5. The menu will give customers the opportunity to experience the magic of McDonald's on a global scale without having to book a flight — and we can't be mad at that. The Worldwide Favorites menu will also include the Grand McExtreme Bacon Burger from Spain, the Tomato Mozzarella Chicken Sandwich from Canada, and Cheesy Bacon Fries served in Australia.
