"I decided to try a meal-subscription service. There are tons of options online, but I went with Freshly (plans range from $8-$13 per meal). This one appealed to me because the meals can be made in the microwave or oven and don't include much prepping. Before you think, "Oh, this is a microwaveable meal," because honestly, that's what I thought at first, give it a chance. It ended up being so great for me, because I prefer to eat my largest meal in the middle of the day for lunch. Since I work full-time, it's almost impossible to prep a large meal while I'm also working. These dishes made it easy for me to have a great lunch without spending a ton of time in the kitchen." — KJ

"I tried the Great Jones The Dutchess ($145), and couldn't have been more thrilled to test the Instgram-famous tool. The design is meant to retain heat well, so you can also place it on your table for serving once you're ready to eat. I decided to roast a chicken, and it was the easiest process ever. I filled the pot with a whole chicken, lemon, rosemary, spices, and white wine — the deep design allows everything to cook without spewing out everywhere. Once it was ready to go, it honestly looked like the prettiest thing I ever cooked while sitting inside the Dutchess. It was easy to lift, even with my hands in oven mitts. My friends served themselves straight from the pot. Now what really impressed me is how easy it is to clean. I didn't have to spend ages scrubbing it down — even the tricky bits that cooked onto the pot slid right off with some dish soap and hot water." — MCW

A Restaurant-Quality Pizza Stone: Pizzacraft Round ThermaBond Stone
"I found this Pizzacraft Round ThermaBond Pizza Stone ($61) on Amazon, and let me tell you: it delivers some fine margherita pies. It comes in two other shapes (square and rectangular) because options are good to have. We throw it in the oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 12 minutes, then reheat the pies one pair at at a time for two minutes each. I don't know how my husband arrived at this science, but it's the optimal time for the stone to warm up and the pizza to become crispy with a golden-brown crust."

"I finally found the cutting board that checks all of my novice chef boxes — enter the Epicurean All-In-One Cutting Board with Non-Slip Feet and Juice Groove ($30). It is made of a durable wood composite that is still friendly to all of your knives (so you don't have to constantly resharpen your blades) and is heat resistant to 350°F, so it can be used in place of a trivet on stone counters. I have had problems occasionally where the board will slightly warp in the dishwasher; so far I have corrected that each time by wetting it and letting it dry standing up. "After getting into food subscription boxes, I wanted one for produce. I settled on Farmbox Direct ($41-$79, depending on location). The brand offers fresh, organic products delivered in an eco-friendly box right to your doorstep. The idea sounded great, but when it was delivered to my door, and I loved it. I suddenly found that having this much produce in my house made everything easier. For every meal, I was able to incorporate a fruit or vegetable, and I ate healthier than I had in a long time. Overall, I was really pleased with the experience. My favorite thing about the box was that I tried things I normally wouldn't have.
