Will Chip and Joanna Gaines Do High-End Design?
The 1 Reason Chip and Joanna Gaines Won't Do Expensive High-End Design

If you live outside Waco, TX, then you've likely had sticker shock from the real estate on Fixer Upper. The homes Chip and Joanna Gaines renovate are priced shockingly low, as in they don't necessarily always enter into the six figures. There are reno funds on top of the home price, but it's fair to say that Chip and Joanna consistently work within tight budgets — which makes their dramatic makeovers all the more astounding. But if you've ever wondered what the Gaineses would do if given a big budget, we have news: the couple have no desire to cater to the wealthy, high-end market.
"If we fell into a high-end niche, I think we would hate it. It just wouldn't be who we are as individuals," Chip told us recently at an event for the Magnolia Home by Joanna Gaines paint collection. "You know, not to say that we don't aspire to have some piece that would be maybe categorized as a higher-end piece, but we want our stuff to be attainable, we want it to be inspirational, we want it to be affordable. Those are passions of ours that hopefully will lead us through this entire journey."
Chip went on to explain that working within the confines of a tight budget is what forced him and Joanna to be creative with their designs and develop their unique style in the first place. And, lucky for us, the couple have no plans to change up their winning formula.
