Designers on Trading Places Reboot
OMFG, All Your Favorite Original Designers Are Returning to TLC's Trading Places
As if the Trading Spaces reboot wasn't already bringing the nostalgia with the news that Paige Davis will be returning to reprise her role as host, it's got us merrily strolling down memory lane with its just-released list of designers. On it are seven — yes, SEVEN — returning designers from the original season! The veterans include Doug Wilson, Carter Oosterhouse, Laurie Smith, Ty Pennington, Hildi Santo-Tomas, Vern Yip, and Genevieve Gorder.
Genevieve announced the news in a video on her Instagram account, stating, "I've built a life around this show, and I'm so grateful to all of you who watched this in the beginning. I hope you come back and I hope we bring in the next generation of kids who need to know what design is." Before closing, she added a poignant reminder of why Trading Spaces resonated with audiences as one of the first design shows when it aired so many years ago: "This is the show that taught us all that we all deserve it, we all can afford it, and life should be lived really beautifully."
To keep it fresh, TLC has also added a slew of exciting newbie designers, such as Sabrina Soto, Kahi Lee, Brett Tutor, and Joanie Sprague. Now we have even more to look forward to when Trading Spaces returns next year!
