Getting uninterrupted, comfortable, and high-quality sleep is something I can't compromise on, and at the core of a blissful slumber is a supportive and comfortable mattress fit for your needs. I prefer sleeping on a firmer mattress to support and align my spine, because I'm prone to back and shoulder aches along with posture issues. However, I also want to feel like I'm sleeping on a plush cloud that keeps my body cool, especially since it's getting hotter.

Although it's tough to find an ideal mattress, my fellow POPSUGAR editors can't get enough of Casper's lineup of mattresses. In fact, we've tried and tested nearly every model. I got to try out Casper's new Snow mattress ($1,995) in a queen, and it's been designed for hot sleepers. It promises to keep you five degrees cooler all night long by pulling heat away from your body, so I had to put it to the test.

What I Like About the Casper Snow Mattress :

As someone who prioritizes spinal support, I really appreciated that this mattress is a hybrid model that pairs the best of both traditional springs and memory foam. The brand's premium foam adjusts to your body's movement. No matter how much I tossed and turned, I felt comfortable in every position. Its individually encased Flex Coils create a firm foundation that provides the responsive support I need to help with my back aches and shoulder pains. The mattress's hybrid foundation layer is just the start of its well-thought-out design. Like Casper's Original mattress model, this mattress also provides zoned support to help relieve pressure and align your spine, which has made a noticeable difference in my posture and overall body pain management. The brand states that this mattress has a medium, balanced feel; however, I actually felt that it's on the medium firm side, which is ideal for my needs.

Casper's Snow mattress also lives up to its cooling hype. The top layer is made with a cooling yarn, and a perforated layer of Casper's Signature Foam helps increase airflow while cradling your body. Along with its breathable layers, the mattress has specialized bands that absorb the heat from your body. To truly test out how cooling this mattress is, I avoided turning on the AC at night, making my bedroom about 75 degrees Fahrenheit. I was able to blissfully sleep through the night without feeling overheated, even while wrapped in my cozy sheets and comforter. The mattress truly does feel cool to the touch. If you get a little warm or just want a burst of a refreshing feel, all you have to do is roll over; it's like sleeping on the cool side of your pillow for your whole body without any effort.

What's Worth Noting About the Casper Snow Mattress:

Casper's mattresses are delivered in a box, making the shipping time convenient. However, you will have to do the setup yourself, and because this mattress is pretty heavy, I definitely needed a few helping hands to lift this onto my bed frame and unravel it. The mattress is heavily wrapped in plastic and vacuum-sealed. To make life easier, I recommend unrolling, unfolding, and positioning the mattress while it's vacuum-sealed so you have better control. Although the mattress rapidly expands the moment you unwrap it, I'd suggest waiting 30 minutes to an hour before putting your sheets on and making your bed so that it fully expands. Also worth noting again that the mattress has more of a medium-firm feel rather than a medium feel, in my opinion. If you prefer something a little more plush, you might want to add a mattress topper or check out Casper's range of popular picks.

Who's the Casper Snow Mattress Best For?

Although this mattress is designed for those who run hot while they sleep, it's actually also a supportive option for those who have back, neck, or shoulder issues. Plus, no matter if you're a back, side, or stomach sleeper, this mattress has ergonomic support for whatever position you prefer to sleep in. Casper's Snow mattress is the definition of breathable comfort, and it is a must for those who love to sleep in a cooler environment.

Is the Casper Snow Mattress Worth the Splurge?

In order to support your comfort needs, you should invest in a quality mattress — especially because you spend about a third of your day sleeping. Plus, the lifespan of a mattress is about eight to 10 years, so it makes sense to invest in something you will use almost every day. Luckily, Casper has a 100-night risk-free trial where you can really test out your mattress and see if it's the right fit for a long period of time. Its 10-year warranty and excellent customer service are just the cherries on top.

If you suffer from back or joint pain, it's imperative to invest in a mattress that caters to your needs and supports your body. Casper's Snow mattress is not just a supportive option, but also one that keeps your body cool and comfortable for restful, uninterrupted sleep. This mattress is absolutely worth every penny.
