  • There were definitely quite a few interesting performances. Katy Perry hopped into a literal birthday suit and performed from her latest tour stop, overseas.

  • Miley Cyrus was absent too, but that didn't stop her from performing a Beatles cover, which involved absolutely no twerking.

  • While all of that was happening on a stage that wasn't the Billboard stage, Shakira totally made out with Gerard Piqué backstage. You have to see the pic.

  • And of course, Jennifer Lopez brought down the house and closed the show and even went home with an icon award.

  • Oh, and one more thing. Lorde won two awards. She was amazing and cool and didn't act at all like a 17-year-old. Also, she kind of looked like Jon Snow from Game of Thrones.
