It seems the twinkle lights come out and Christmas music starts playing earlier and earlier every year, yet we never start our holiday shopping any sooner. On the contrary, we inevitably find ourselves desperate for a last-minute gift or two every holiday season. And we're not the only ones; celebrity designer and PayPal partner Jonathan Adler admitted to us that he keeps a stash of quick and easy presents on hand for just such an occasion. Keep reading to discover Jonathan's stylish picks, perfect for those times you're running out the front door empty handed.

"I always have a few of my Muse scented candles ($78) on hand because they're like a grab-and-go-er," Jonathan told us of this perfect gift.

"Everybody wants money, but it's awkward to give — until today, courtesy of PayPal and us," Jonathan told us, referring to the stylish virtual gift cards he created for PayPal. "Suddenly the gift of money becomes chic and glamorous and fun and not embarrassing." And, we would add, great for last-minute gift givers who can quickly select one of the beautiful themes and send the money right from their phone on the way to the party.

"Another go-to gift I always grab is one of my husband's books, because if you don't laugh at Simon [Doonan]'s book, then you're incapable of laughter," Jonathan joked to us. He's partial to Beautiful People ($15) because "it gives everyone the air of intellectualism."

In his handy closet of boxed gifts, Jonathan told us, "I have some of my pepper shakers." We're partial to the adorable poodles salt and pepper shaker set ($48).
